Through the ‘IKEA Play: Exploration, Imagination, Inspiration’ campaign, IKEA Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to helping families create children's rooms that are safe, comfortable, and supportive of their growth and development. This campaign encourages parents to view children's rooms not just as sleeping spaces, but also as the first spaces that shape creativity and independence. The IKEA Play event was held at IKEA Jakarta Garden City on 6 November 2025.
According to Ririn Basuki, Public Relations Manager at IKEA Indonesia, creating the ideal children's room does not have to be expensive or complicated—the most important thing is to understand the child's needs and choose solutions that suit the size of the space. This is in line with IKEA's vision of creating a better everyday life for many people, starting at home.
Child psychologist Fabiola Priscila, M.Psi., emphasised the importance of dividing a child's room into zones: a quiet sleeping area, a creative play area, and a focused study area. From a design perspective, Alfinda Kristiana Rahardyana, Interior Design Leader at IKEA Indonesia, explained that a good room should encourage exploration and independence.
IKEA also shares five practical tips for designing a child's room: use safe furniture, choose multifunctional furniture, apply good lighting, provide easily accessible storage, and add decorations that reflect the child's character. Through IKEA Play, IKEA continues to strengthen its role as a provider of affordable, adaptable and inspiring home furnishing solutions for Indonesian families.
